Plymouth's New Core Sport Pilates Fitness Studio

I have been training in Downtown Plymouth's new Core Sport Pilates Finess Studio over the last several months and can't believe the results. I have always been into health and fitness either working out in my home gym or at the large neighborhood gyms like Lifetime fitness. I had only heard about pilates a few years ago but never tried it. I play a lot of golf and volleyball. Both are hard on my back and lower body. I have been training with Jaime White who has put together a personalized training routine that includes cardio, plyometrics, pilates, weights, and stretching. In the beginning she did a full evaluation of my strengths and weaknesses as well as my body mechanics that are typical to a golf swing. From that we were able to predict my swing faults categorized by the Titleist Performance Institute as seen on the Golf Channel.

I love Core Sport because the workout that I get in 1 hour is so intense compared to working out on my own. Jaime is always focused on keeping my heart rate elevated which burns fat while building muscle. The other key to my workouts is that each exercise utilizes multiple muscle groups. This is one of the primary principles of pilates. It seems that whether I am doing push-ups , pull ups, medicine ball tosses, or pilates on the "reformer" my core is always engaged. I have talked to other clients that have taken pilates in the midwest and michigan and they tell me the Core Sport Pilates is much more intense the way pilates is made to be. Jaime White has trained for hundreds of hours under the people who learned directly from Joseph Pilates. Not bad for a little town like Plymouth to have someone of her caliber.

I highly recommend Core Sport to anyone else - beginner to advanced athlete. It is about time Metro Detroit had something of this caliber.
